STURGEON SURRENDERS.Doris Sturgeon, who ran when Rev.C. E. Davis and Elder Dindley M.%Barlow, special prohibition officers, and -Constab'e C. J. Cooper attempted his arrest July 1st for making and idling liquor, came to Englinh Saturday afternoon and surrendered to Marshal Omer Brown. He was taken before Justice A. F. Colebaugh. who placed his bond at $500, which was filled, and ordered him to appear for trial July 20th. .• iSturgeon, who was accompanied by Ernest Satterfield, who was home onIleave from the navy, was said to have been hiding whiskey in the weeds near the road nouth of town when the j officers,, who had suspected his purpose and had hidden nearby to watch j his actions, appeared. He ran, leaving Satterfield in the car. The lat- | ter was arrested and eleven bottles , of home brew, one quart of white mule and the automobile were confiscated.Satterfield gave $200 bond for his appearance in Justice Colebaugh’s court July 5, but when his case was’ called he did not appear. Justice Colebaugh declared the bond forfeited and the sum of $200 was paid him by the accused man’s father, WoodsoniSatterfield, who was the bondsman. Satterfield claimed when arrested i that he knew nothing of the liquor , and was only riding with Sturgeon at the lattcr's invitation.
