iron dtie.Mr. J. T. Terrill came over from Potosi on July 4th in the capacity of deputy sheriff and quietly made an arrest. The prisoner was allowed to enter hishome to get his coat, while Mr. Terrill remained in the buggy outside, and he doesn’t know whether his prisoner found the coat or not, as he did not return to report. Mr. Terrill after waiting some time drove sadly away, wending his way over the long and lonely road to Potosiwithout company. Early on the following morning the prisoner was discovered to be athis home. B. P. McKinney, town marshal, and posse re-arrested him, butonly after a foot race in which some very flashy sprinting was shown. W. B. McKinney finally succeeded in overtaking the prisoner, and he was started for Po-tosi in the custody of B. P. McKinney and Criss Wallace. Theprisoner had not yet seen Wallace in action and when the north end of town was reached he decided to hotfoot it some more, but he underestimated Wallace's speed and was soon re-captured. We may not have any big scrappers of the Jeffries or Johnson type but we have the sprinters.Mr. and Mrs. Robert Trauer-nicht of Lead wood were visitors in Irondale several days the past week. *
