Two convicted for fowl crueltyUNIONTOWN, Pa (UP!) — A district justice has convicted two men arrested by state police in a raid on cockfighting pits in North Union, Fayette County, on charges of cruelty to animal?North Union District Justice Eugene J. Simon then ordered Russell R. Fouse of Leechburg. Armstrong County, andDouglas Brewer of Chicora, Butler County, to pay $375 in fines and courtcosts.Fourteen other men arrested during the July ] raid pleaded guilty earlier before Simon. The district justice levied the same fine against 13 of the suspects, but ordered Paul J. Kuba of Lemont Furnace, Fayette County, jailed for 30 days alter Kuba failed to meet with Simon in order to work out a payment plan for his Fine.Simon also ordered that four of the fowl seized during the raid be turned over to the Fayette County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
