Charge of Second Degree Murder FiledEMPORIA, Kan. (AP - A charge of second degree murder was filed today against Billy Carter, 34, Emporia, in the fatal stabbing Saturday night of Hider Ervin, 49, also of Empor-ia.The papers were served on Carter in a hospital where he is recovering from a shotgun wound in one foot.Jerry Demo, county attorney, said the two got into an argument over a gambling debt and Ervin shot Carter in the foot. He said Carter then stabbed Ervin with a butcher knife.
