Fined $20 Each For GamblingFive Fitchburg men, arrested in Lunenburg yesterday on charges o! gaming on the Lord’s day, all pleaded guilty before Judge A. Z. i Goodfeliow in district -court this morning and each was fined $20.The defendants were Alfred P. Pochini, 29, of 267 Beirns road Hector H. Rabbin* 43, of 13 Poplar street; Joseph F. Alien, 22, of 21Mechanic street; William C. Moran,. 46, of. 307 Summer street and Dominic DeCaroIis 29, of 8 Fourth’ streetArrests were made by Stale Pa-! trolman Leonard J. King, Police! Chief Chester W. Page and Officers! William Deming, Howard Conrad! and Winthrop Harley of Lunenburg, i Police testified that the defendants! were play mg dice in a bam off North street m Lunenburg,Alfred J Rivard, 43-, of Lunenburg, pleaded not guilty to- two counts of assault and battery, one on his wife, Mary Rivard, also of Lunenburg, and the other on Dorothy Bird of Lunenburg. Judge Gapdfellow continued the case until Jiffy 15.Miss Dorothy M Bessette, 19, and Miss -Gloria J Hamilton, 38, both' of 148 Fairmount street, pleaded innocent to a charge of larceny of $23 in currency from Helen Keenan of! Whalom park Wednesday and their cases were continued to July 19.Police say the defendants took a pocketbook and its contents fromj the lighthouse Cafe, Route 13.
