Police chief firedGrain Valley Police Chief Earl Brackman was fired from his position effective 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mayor Kurt Hanneman said Brackman was dismissed during action in executive session of the regular Monday night board meeting. Hanneman would not say why Brackman was released. Brackman said he had no comment on why he was fired. A special meeting in executive session of the board of aldermen has been called for 8 p.m. today at city hall.
