Va„ July 11 — A sonsntlonnl murdor occurod Saturday evening about two miles from Ellznbctli. the county seat of Wirt county, when Christopher Drinker, Boventy-llve years of ape, wns shot and Instantly killed by Jonas Sees, n well to do farmer aped fifty-live years, following a quarrel between the two men which occurred on the front porch of Sees’ home. It is charged that the Intter shot IJrInker down with an old style muzzle loading shot pun blowing the whole top of Drinker's head off. The lnttor dropped dead In the doorway which was bespattered with his brains.Secs and Drinker have been neigh-boro and friends for years, but recently a feud grew up between them. The murdor was witnessed by the wife and five of the nine children of Sees. The latter was hroupht to this city nnd placed In Jail as the VT7rt county jail was destroyed by tire sev-ornl weeks apo. Sees will not discuss the case and maintains a moRt disinterested demeanor relntlve to the serious cbnrpe hanging over him.
