She heard the prowler knock oxer a table as he entered the room.Her sister, Mary. OR, heard the noise and r«ime into the room. The woman said her sifter told the man to get oul, and when he refused she tan for a gun in her bedroom. The prowler ran after her and wrestled the gun out of her hand.The prowler held the gun at the bridge of thp 68 year old woman's nose and said, avoiding to the woman:Now I got \ mi.”While wrestling with the gun. the two fell down a flight of sex on stairs. The proxx ler wouldn't let the woman get to hei feet. He demanded to know where she kept her money. At first, her sister said, the woman said she didn’t have any money, then when she told him she had$30, he kept twisting her arm.The prowler went back to the 86-ycar-old woman's bedroom and began pushing her around the room. Th* woman walks with crutches due to a recent hip injuiy. She said she began to scream for help.Neighbors who had seen the ptowler climb the trellis, called the imlicp. When the police entered the house the prowler started running through the moms, the woman said, trying to find a way out. As he reached th# back door he fired at the police, but missed. They caught him as he was about to run out of the house.Mary Burfeind was taken to St. Bernard’s hospital. Sh* is suffering possible fractures of botn shoulders. X-rays are being taken. Hospital officials say she is in good condition..Police identified the prowler as William Campbell, 5126 S. LaSalle st.
