Ted R Brooks of Wichita Falls, j , youth who accompanied Raymond j ( Hamilton In the April 25 robbery ] of the First National Bank of Dew- j isville, was on his way to Hunts- I vilie Tuesday, to begin serving a seven-year sentence assessed in District Judge Ben W. Boyd’s court Monday.The sentence was returned Monday afternoon and on Brooks. Tuesday, shortly before noon, Bud Russell, state penitentiary agent, drove into Denton and left with Brooks. No other prisoners were taken from here.The term was just two years more than the minimum five-year sentence the law allows in a robbery case on a verdict of guilty.Brook* had pleaded guilty, but took the stand, the sole defense witness, to tel1 the jury he acted against his will and solely out of itu of his companion in the crime, the notorious Raymond Hamilton.The verdict was returned shortly before 3 o’clork Monday afternoon.Argument BriefCounsel's argument had been v* ry brief.Robert H.
