July (AP )— Mrs. Margaret Waters was free today to join her daughter, Margaret Waters (Gypsy) Horn, on a trip east to visit relatives.Judge Sam C. Blair of Jefferson City, sitting as a special judge in the Boone County Circuit court, quashed a perjury indictment against Mrs. Waters. A grand jury brought the charge against Mrs. Waters several weeks ago in connection with a bond she signed for her daughter’s release while Mrs. Horn was facing arson charges.A Boone county jury decided Thursday night that Mrs. Horn, former University of Missouri co-ed, did not set fire to a university room-house here May 14. 1949. and acquitted her of arson. Judge Blair presided in that case. too.Judge Blair ruled today on a motion filed by Edwin C. Orr. attorney for the mother and daughter, which contended that after Mrs. Waters had told the; court that property pledged on behalf of Mrs. Horn's bond was held jointly by Mrs. Waters and her husband the bond was in-, valid anyway. Her other testi-1mony was immaterial, the motion contended.IThe judge also dismissed » motion by the state which would have required Mrs. Waters to pay her daughter’s bond. Mrs. Horn's bond was ordered forfeited when she did not appear here for trial April 25 on the arson charge. She was ill then, but came voluntarily accompanied by her mother, to face the charge when trial was reset for last Monday.
