News DigestNASHUAMan found guilty of assaulting teen: A 39-year-old Nashuaman was convicted last month of assaulting a 16-year-old girl, an acquaintance of his stepdaughter.David Houston-Booth of 3 Killian Drive, Nashua, was arrested March 8 on charges that he assaulted and sexuaily assaulted the girl sometime between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31, 1994, at his former home at 3 South London Drive.After a trial in Nashua District Court on June 28, Houston-Booth was convicted on one count of simple assault by unprivileged physical contact.” He was found guilty of grabbing the girl, throwing her down on a bed and kissing her.Houston-Booth was found innocent on a misdemeanor sexual assault charge, which alleged that he had fondled the girl’s breast.Two other simple assault charges involving the same girl had been dropped prior to his trial.Houston-Booth remains free on personal recognizance bail pending sentencing Aug. 16 on the simple assault charge. The charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail and no mandatory minimum.
