STATE, COUNTY, CITYWANT HIM IN JAILWOODSTOCK. July T. — OP) — James (Fur) Sammons, proclaimed a Chicago public enemy by virtue of a criminal record extending: back to JS99, tonight found the law enforcing agencies of Cook county, the state, and the Cricago crime commission united in an effort to keep him in Joliet penitentiary,Sammons, who was reincarcerated in the penitentiary on an old charge during Chicago’s drive on its public enemies, is seeking his freedom on a writ of habeas corpus before circuit Judge Edward D. Shurtleff. Because the judge is engaged, in a bank trial at Waukegan the first hearing was held at a night session.
