sluggeImness WITH PET OF ICEAnton Krantz Attacked and Beaten Because of Testimony He Gave.(From Saturday’a Daily.)In a mixture of almost unintelligible German, Polish and pigeon English, Auton K rants explained to Deputy Prosecutor Emrick and Lieutenant Lapp this morning that he had been attacked and badly beaten last night at Boss' foundry by Johan Szy-moski and Nicholas Fisher because he testified in police court yesterday morning in the case eg-ainst Mary Krantz for cruelty to her step children.*'Pra been vorklng to Bass foundry and 2 come to vnrk ’bout eight o’clock lest night, uud ven I'm ben eating mein dinner ’bout svelve clock day ben standing inside de door and veu I come to vark dey slucked me on de kopf mit piece of ice.”He aegan to disrobe at this point In his narrative to show Ins injuries, but was persuaded to desist and from the mass cf his jargon nnd that of his Y/ife it was ascertained that the men who are accused of having attacked him are relatives of Mary Krantz nnd that they had promised to kill him.He had ft long mark on hi a nock, a gash in hie scalp and his right arm and shoulder were badly bruised. He said he was unconscious for twenty minutes after the attack and his general appearance indicated very rGUgii! usage- x His wife volunteered the information that they had promised to kill him today. They told .him there would be lots of shooting and they could kill him easily and not be detected because of the general discharge of explosives tliat they anticipated. Ail affidavit was filed against both men and placed in the hands of the police.
