---O-----NOT A PLAYFUL MATTER.Mr. Guilford Assaulted State's Attorney Welsheimer and Is Fined and Sent to Jail at Auburn.AUBURN, Ind., July 7.—When the bilj of costs hi Charles Guilford's case tor violation of the liquor law was made tip and settled a few clays ago it seems that Prosecutor Weisheiraer's lee of $5 was omitted and the latter wrote to Mr. Guilford informing him that the matter must be looked after at once. This letter fell into the hands o£ Alex. Guilford, the young man's la ther, and on Monday afternoon he met Mr. Welsheimer on the street and asked for an explanation. Alter a tew words Guilford's temper got the best ot him and he struck the prosecutora couple of hard blows, drawing blood.The men separated and Deputy Prosecutor Emanuel at once brought ae tion against Guilford for assault and battery.
