Early in tho morning the streets ofTipton were thronged with people.Tho radicals had announcod that tho Grand Army of tho Republic would meet at Tipton and manufacture as much sympathy out of tho dead bones of loyal Union soldiers os possible, forgetting that in 1805, 1800, and 1807 that thoy had omitted that important point in thoir programme, and that according to their theory to scatter a few llowers over the graves was very important in 1808. but was of no importance at any other point in the history of the radical party. Tho transparent humbug, while it brought Colonel NelsonTrusslor to blow, and bluster, And sweatliko an ox, fell dead upon tliopeoploof Tipton County, and was not received withmuch sympathy.Tho town of Windfall is about nine miles Northeast of Tipton in Wildcat Township, |and when the band of music took the lead to inarch out of Tipton, followed by tho immense hickory wagons and other vehicles of evory description almost, together with fully 11 vo hundredhorsemen, it seemed that tho town of Tipton had boon deserted, and * thut tho sap-headed humbuggorv of tho radicals would bo proclaimed to open air and empty seats in Tipton on tho Fourth. The Democratic procession numbered two hundred and fifty-seven wagons, with large hickory wagons deoorated withllagH, filled with young ladies representing tho various States in the Union. This procession, on its way to Windfall ^niot but six persons going to the radical pow wow at Tipton, and two of them were citrpet-baggei'8 on foot J When tho procession arrived at Wind/kll tho numerous delegations from various other townships had arrived until thoro wore folly five thousand pooplo present, 'There wore tw o bands of music present. Tho meeting under the efficient management of 11. F. I-iCgg, Esq., was called to order and tho commander of tho various companies of the Union Whito Roys in lilue, marehod to the grove with fully four hundred soldiers, where tho Chairman introducedJAMKH T. COX, KtM4.,Who made a brief and most spirited speech upon both local and National politics. His speech was short, well conceived, and delivered in a most animating manner.An intermission of a few* minutes for tho purpose of refreshing the inner man, was then proposed, when the people by thousands assembled around the various dinner baskets, and feasted upon the bit things of Tipton county.The Rand then called the people to the stand, when the Chairman introduced •
