FARRISStaff ReporterSABINE BRIDGE, La. — AGreyhound bus carrying an estimated 42 passengers caught fire and burned at the foot of the Interstate 10 Sabine River Bridge at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday.According to a Louisiana State Police spokesman, the bus air-conditioning compressor froze up, causing the engine to overheat and catch fire as the bus was crossing the bridge easlbound from Texas.He said several passengers received minor injuries when they were shoved while exiting the burning bus.A Ward 7 Toomcy-Starks Volunteer Fire Department spokeswoman said one of the injured was an infant. The injured were reportedly treated and released at West Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital in Sulphur. Boudreaux’s report states Wilson said he and a friend had been riding around and had spotted a pickup truck which had been stolen from him.Boudreaux accompanied the man to the truck, which was parked near the tennis courts at the rear of the American Village Apartments.
