BAXTER FOUND NOT GUILTYZachariah T. Baxter, formerly of Marion Township, Jennings County who was arrested at ^Indianapolis, a week ago on a charge connecting him with the death of his wife Nancy Ann Baxter who died Ftbruary 26 th at their Marlon Township home, was discharged by Frank E. Little, acting as Bpeclal judge, at the prilimlnary hearing held in mayor's court, ThursBaxter was represented by Attorney H C. Meloy of this city and Attorney Edward Eisner, of Seymour The prosecution was conducted by the the district prosecutor William Turner, of Osgood, assisted by his deputy Guy Waltermire of this city. Mrs. Baxter died suddenly and at the time of her death was believed to be due o heart trouble and the coroner’s verdict so stated. Later relatives became suspicious that she was poisoned and Mr. Baxter was accused. The pre llminary hearing lasted one half day and a number of witnesses were exam ined but no evidence of a damaging nature was revealed. ‘ After hearing the evidence submitted, the judge dis charged the prisoner.
