Arthur has spent the most of his time for several months either in the Cass county jail or in lighting booze and making trouble for his father while at liberty. Only a few weeks ago the elder FiDnegan bad cause to complain of his son for stealing tools out of his shop, selling them and buying hogwash with the proceeds, and an agreement was effected with the prosecutor whereby the son was to leave town to escape being sent to the penitentiary. But he did uot leave and was hauled into court in less than afweek for drunkenness and Cain-raising.Saturday night the elder Finnegan complained to the police that his horse had been stolen, and the copper's tirst inquiry was as to'the whereabouts of his erratic son, which questiou the father could not answer definitely. Thejpeelers found Arthur, jr., a little later driving the nag at breakneck speed around town/ himself beastly drunk and but half clothed. They hauled him in, sent the rig home and put Arthur in the Ktchason cooling rr.orns. He was brought| before Squire Guthrie Monday, fined and sent to jail, where he may have to lay out a few suspended sentences hanging over his head, unless his father relents and gets him out again.Drunken Woman Heals Her Husband.Mrs. William Green, a bibulous and pugnacious daughter of Eve, who lives with her husband ou Biddle Island, was arrested Monday for beiogdrunk and beating Mr. Green with a club. Mrs. Green had just finished serving a jail sentence on an intoxication charge, and no sooner was she liberated than she tilled upon hogwash and began to rough up the premises. So boisterous did she become that neighbors rang up the police and when they reached the house the woman had Green down and was beating him with a c!uh, the effects of which kept him pretty sore for a day or so.Mrs. Green was taken to jail to answer the double charge of drunkenness and husband-heating. Upon pleading guilty Tuesday morning she was fined and costed SI 1.50 and sent across the way to lay it out. She did not stay lone, however, until William appeared
