I*THIEVES TAKE 240 CHICKENStFROM W. BARTLETT FARMWillard Bartlett, who lives on a farm about one-half mile east of Odin, found, much to his surprise, Saturday morning, June 29, that he had been relieved of some 240 frying size chickens, by unknown parties during the night.Bartlett was awakened about 3 a.m. that morning, but upon investi-gaion could not find anyhing sus* picious, so returned to bed, and when he went to the chicken house later, found that 240 chickens ranging in weight from 2% to 3 pounds and valued at about $1.25, had been stolen. An investigation at the scene revealed footprints on the ground around the chicken pen, one of the prints of a tennis shoe, and a pieceof sack which had apparently caught on the wire fence as the pilferers departed with their loot.No further revealing evidence has been uncovered at this wrriting.
