First trial to begin Sept. 14# ALVIN from Page 1Apistol.Washington County authorities reportedly became aware of the homicide after Taylor allegedly made statements concerning Lundgren's death sometime after being apprehended by Menomonie police officers in late March.Taylor also was charged Thursday in Washington County with attempted first-degree murder as the result of a scuffle at the same West Bend motel Dec. 23, 1986.Taylor allegedly stabbed Paul Zwick, who was treated at West Bend hospital and released. Zwick worked at the motel and was lying on his bed there at the time of the attack, authorities said.The criminal complaint quotes Zwick as saying Taylor struck him in the head twice with a hammer and stabbed him in the neck with a screwdriver before Zwick got away.No charges were filed against Taylor at that time because Zwick soon after enlisted in the Navy and was unavailable for court proceed-
