When he got away on the night of December 3rd. and he and his pal. David Alanson Gibbs, local officers knew that the worm would turn and sooner or later one or both would he captured. Meliza is now a suflt of Hotel do Hanson, for an indefinite period. Ho v us arrested on Saturday afternoon on the Northwestern tracks west of Ame andlocked up in Ames, until Sheriff I. F. Hanson and Deputy Sheriff John Reid went after him. Meliza is charged with robbing the Ades store at Moingona, with carrying concealed weapons, and with resisting an officer. He wants to plead guilty in court to carrying concealed weapons and resisting an officer, so Sheriff Hanson said this morning, but has nothing to say about the robberycharge.Return to Old HomeMeliza was in Boone Friday coming in on a freight from the west. He took dinner here about 2:30 and then caught the same freight for Ames. At Ames he made some purchases ina suburban store. There he became talkative and told the proprietor that his wife had died and was buried there, etc. The proprietor recognized Meliza. even though his moustache was gone. As soon as possible word was sent to the chief of police and a search was made, but not until Sat urdav did the chief and his deputies get the man. Word was sent to the local sheriffs office and they drove to Ames and got him and he is nowwhere he can’t escape.Pulled a GunOn the night of December 3rd the Ades store at Moingona was robbed .{and officers soon had Meliza and Gibbs rounded lip at the Northwestern station. But a gun handily handledby one of the nu n caused the officersto throw up their hands and the two got away. Meliza told Sheriff Hansonthis morning that they went north.and at the outskirts of town they separated and from then to this day they had not seen each other. Hanson listened to this story, but didn't swallow any of it. At the time cards hearing descriptions of the two men and a picture of Meliza were sent out by Sheriff Hanson.
