— Charlotte News: There is a great case on trial this week at a special term of Montgomery county Superior Court ^at Troy. Four hundred witnesses and 30 odd lawyers are engaged. The Republican candidates for sheriff and register of deeds of Montgomery having sued the present incumbents for their offices, these cases take precedenceover all others. The coroner'sjury investigating the killing of the negro Burton by John Wilson, to-day returned a verdict to the effect that Burton came to his death by having his throat cut with a razor, in the hands of John Wilson. Wilson is still at large.
