While Gloede was searching for Metko, the car, loaded with loot, suddenly started and roared out of the junk yard and away, leading authorities to believe two men were Involved.Metko explained that he had merely hid in the field and retraced his steps to the yard while Gloede was searching for him. He drove to Appleton where he abandoned the machine and started out on foot for Waupaca.Also in municipal court this morning was Walter Veddar, a resident of Koro, who was fined $10 and costs for being drunk and disorderly in a tavern at Eureka last evening.While Undersheriff Harry Krippner was on his way to Eureka to make the arrest, Veddar went to Ripon. The undersheriff followed, but his trip appeared on Vcddar’s bill, the costs in the action amounting to $16.35.Edward Moore, 62 High street, paid a fine by proxy this morning for jumping an arterial at the comer of Wisconsin, avenue and Union street.
