Metko was arrested late ycster-Tday while walking along the highway near Waupaca and' immediately confessed to the crime. He was apprehended by County Traffic Officers Irving Stilp and Clarence Smith.His arrest revealed that instead of working with an accomplice, Metko was actually alone the night he broke into the junk yard, loaded his car with auto radiators and es-coped, although he was discovered in the act of stealing from the yard, by Carl Gloede, an empoJye. DASHED FOR GATE When Gloede switched on a light, Metko made a dash for the gate on foot and disappeared across a field. While Gloede was searching for Metko, the car, loaded with loot, suddenly started and roared out of the junk yard and away, leading authorities to believe two men were involved.Metko explained that he had merely hid in the field and retraced his steps to the yard while Gloede was searching for him.
