Harry Olson found guiltyHarry Olson, 48, 2109 11th Ave., wasfound guilty of two counts of homicide by an intoxicated use of a vehicle, following six-and-a-half hours of deliberation by a four-women, eight-man Green County jury. Sentencing is expected later this month by Circuit Judge Arthur L. Luebke who presided at the four-day trial here.Testimony continued through Saturday when the jury began deliberating at 6:45 p.m., delivering the verdict at 1:25 a.m. Sunday.Olson was driving a car June 16 that killed two Monroe girls, Cheryl Dalen, 16, and Debra Golackson, 15. They were passengers in a car driven by Dennis Timm, now 21, rural Monroe, who was injured along with another passenger, Kenneth Rufener, 21, 724 26th Ave.Timm had been northbound on Had-dinger Rd. and Olson was driving west on Richland Rd., and according to testimony did not stop at the stop sign.Penalty for each charge under state law is a maximum imprisonment for not morethan five years; a fine of up to $2,500, or both. The county’s case was presented by assistant attorney general Melvin K. Washington while Monroe attorney Gregory Knoke represented Olson.
