Dieus was in the Sioux City jail Friday night in lieu of $20,000 bond.Dr, Thomas Coriden, Woodbury County Medical Examiner, identified thechild as Sunshine Kissinger.Coriden said the child died from, a massive brain hemorrhage due to multiple contusions. He said the autopsyr ► ,also revealed multiple bruises andsmall cuts about the'body and legs of the girl.Coriden identified the mother as Mrs. Ava Kissinger, whom Coriden said is. in her early twenties.Dieus is not related to the child, police said.Kissinger, Coriden said, told him that she, a younger sister and a friend whom she identified as Dieus, went out Thursday night to buy two puppies. She said she later left Dieus with the child at the molile home where she lives while she went to her sisters home.Dr. Coriden said Dieus told him the child fell and struck her head on a coffee table-’ and that he picked the child up and comforted her, giving her a piece of bread, and the child died.Dieus and Kissinger told Coriden the child twice fell from a bunk bed earlier this week. Coriden said Kissinger told him she was in the process of getting a divorce and that he did not know where the child’s father was.
