Escapers Arrested TexasBy CONNIE MILESTwo of the three inmates who escaped eight days ago from the Kansas State Industrial Reformatory were taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Temple, Tex.Glen. Henson, 21, serving one to 10 years from Barber County on forgery charges, and Bill Hoffman, 23, serving five to 16 years for burglary Pottawatomie County, s u r-rautared without a struggle.The third inmate, Daniel S Hill, 24, serving one to five years from Johnson County for third degree burglary and grand Larceny, remained at large Thursday night.Temple poiice said Henson and Hoffman were taken into custody at the home of Hen son’s father, John W, Henson, 55, a construction worker, about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.According to 'temple police, Henson’s father earlier had tried to convince his son to give himself up.When the inmate refused, the elder Henson discussed the matter with his work foreman and superintendent, and information was relayed to Temple“po-lice, an officer said.Temple Police Chief A. C. Berry and Texas Ranger Trenton Horton accompanied Henson’s father to the home Thursday •fternoon.Eleven police officers in addition to Berry and Horton surrounded the home, but the elder Henson went inside and convinced his son to come out an officer said.Police said the inmates had been driving a station wagon with a Louisiana license.Law enforcement officers have been on the lookout for a station wagon which was stolen from the Glen England home about 2% miles southeast of the reformatory the night of the escape.The recovered vehicle has been identified as the one stolen from the England home.
