ACCUSED IN BANK CASEMAN AND GIRL ARE CHARGED WITH RECEIVING STOLEN MONEY.•fames Bradley and Juvenile Accepted $6.OOO Loot From Men Who Staged Louisiana Robbery, Agents Assert.A Kansas Citv tavern ownerVand a 16-year-old girl, described as the tavern owner’s friend, today were charged with receiving stolen money, a development tying the two to a Louisianabank burglary last November 25.The tavern owner is James (Junior) Bradley, 29 years old, 5412 Swope parkway. The girlwill be prosecuted as a juvenile, according to the district attorney’s office.Hearing Is Continued.Both appeared before CharlesH. Thompson, United States commissioner, for preliminary hearings today. However, the hearings were continued until 2 o’clock February 8.Bradley, owner of a business at 1403 Main street, and the girl were arrested last night by Kansas City detectives and FBI agents. They were linked in FBI files to three men recently indicted by a federal grand jury in Louisiana and charged in the86.000 robberv of the Bank ofSlidell at Slidell, La.The two are charged in complaints filed late yesterday with concealing money in excess of 86.000, which thev knew had been stolen. The alleged offense occurred November 26.In addition. Bradley wascharged separately within thelast week with receiving stolen property, specifically perfume valued at about 8400. stolen from an interstate shipment, and inthree other complaints with having assisted the three alleged Louisiana bank robbers in avoiding prosecution by unlawful flight from a separate strong-armed robbery in Kansas.A Wichita Robbery.That robbery occurred July 7. 1955, at the Joyland Amusement park, Wichita, and several thousand dollars were taken. Horace Warren Kimbrell, assistant United States attorney said.At the appearance before Commissioner Thompson today, Kimbrell recommended that bonds of825.000 and $5,000 be fixed respectively for Bradley and thegirl.James Orn, attorney for the two, protested that bonds were being set too high, but Commissioner Thompson said he believed the amounts sought were proper.In the case of the girl, the government evidence will showf she actually counted the money taken from the bank, but since she is only 16 and is a girl, thegovernment believes a $5,000 bond will be adequate,*’ Kimbrell said.Kimbrell said many details of the activities of Bradley, the girl and the three bank robbers had not been revealed by investigating agents. He added the three robbers were identified as Willard Joseph Martin. Frank Lee Morris and EarlBrand.May Limit Charge.It was believed only Martin and Morris figured in the Wichita case and the charge against Bradley of aiding them to avoid prosecution involved only thosetwo.All three men are in federal custody as a result of the Louisiana true bills and subsequent arrests, it was said. They were described by Kimbrell asassociates of Bradlev and the girl.Bradley was released Satur-day on $3,000 bond following his appearance on a stolen property charge involving the per-fume. The perfume was part of a shipment bound from Lake Charles. La., to New York w’hen it came into Bradley's hands, the assistant district attorney explained.
