Man s SorrowsKANSAS CITY, Mo., Jan. 29 (U.P)—An obviously intoxicated man stood on a corner and watched federal deputies pour bottle after bottle of liquor into a sewer. He awaited his chance and almost escaped with three bottles which had not been emptied.Deputies seized the man and the bottles. He said he had been drinking because he had lost his job and needed a little more liquor to drown his troubles.”The bottles contained an elixir of sulfanilamide which had been confiscated by the federal foodand drug administration after causing .the deaths of 72 persons in the United States last fall.The elixir had been taken fromthe warehouse of the S. E. Mas-sengill Company here and was ordered destroyed by Judge Merrill E. Otis of the federal court.
