—There was a good turnout and acreditable showing by members of Company I*', First Regiment M. N. G. at the Armory last Friday night forinspection by Col. Charles I). Gaitherand Capt. J. II Harbcson, U. S. A.First Lieutenant Carroll Kdgar was ordered to report at Baltimore on Thurs day evening for examination.Sheriff linger on Wednesday took to the House of Correction, ElmerJohnson, a voting white man, of the “Tick Ridge’ section, sentenced bv Justice Harwood, for brutal assault onGeorge Black, an old colored man, near CanaJ Station, as also four par ties convicted at the recent term of Court- Thomas L. Krauts and AbeAnderson, (colored), both of selling liquor, and Cooper Grant and Daniel Stout, both colored, the former of assault and battery, and the latter of carrying deadly weapons.
