Creek township for county office.Abandoned and Died.Lp-it Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26, Simeon Hickman, a pumper for Bright . Co., found the dead body of a baby lying near the P. E. R. R. in Meadtownship, a short distance from the Glade toll bridge. It was apparently from three to four months old, neatly dressed, aud with strong indications that it was alive when placed there. Neighbors were informed who telephoned the Coroner, Dr. Peirce and Justice Cornelius, of Warren- They drove to Glade, heard some evidence, and re-tujned with the body which h^s been cared for by Undertaker P. Greenlund, and who will give it burial. On Monday it was learned that a w’omen with a baby in her arms boarded the accommodation train Saturday evening after baying chloroform at a drug store, and got off at Glade Run. The trainmen noticed her and the odor of chlorofoim. Constable Darius Mageewas put on the case and did some clever detective work by tracing the woman to Glade, then to Stoneliam, and then beyond Clarendon, and biinging her to Warren Monday evening. She was brought before Justice Cornelius Tuesday afternoon, furnished with counsel in the person of W. V. N. Yates, Esq., and the trial set for 2 p. m. to-day (Wednesday). Her name is Susan Berry and she is well known around Stone-ham and Clarendon, where her husband worked before dying at Rouse Hospital about two years ago. She may be innocent, but the circumstances and evidence so far seem to be against her.A
