Dickerson said today he could not agree with the theory that explosive gasoline fumes were responsible for the death by fire of Hattiesburg attorney Carl E. Berry, Jr.Berry burned to death last Wednesday night on Interstate 59, about a mile north of ElJis-ville. ■A Hattiesburg parking lot operator told The American Tuesday that prior to the incident he and his attendants bad noticed that the carburetor o f Berry’s £adillac leaked gaso -line; that frequently this iilled the interior of the car with volatile fumes —to such a degree “we were afraid to crank it.” He expressed the opinion these fumes finally cost Berry his life as he drove south on the four - lane highway, heading home after a business' trip to Laurel.
