Tulen of Shelby -vllle.* Mr. Cheney contends that tbe defense will be that there la a frame-up on the ! part of some members of the whisky stealing gang to put all the blame for i the tragedy on Buckner. Cheney takes .the position that Buckner is being made tae “goat.*’ jBuckner claims the part of his supposed statement in which it is stated that members of the whisky-stealing ganghid in the bushes near the road, was not jmade by him. # jDetective Sneed testified and main- f talued that Buckner's statement as read before the jury was just as Buckner die- itated it to him in the presence of Detective Trabue. jThe courtroom is packed to the dodrs and many have been unable to get into the room. Judge Alonso Blair Is presiding and is conducting the case rapidly, permitting no\delay or unnecessary arguments on motions.
