Mr. Bud Frank* returned last week41 . • • •tom Gontaks where he was tried for an assault with intent to kill a man .who had traduced the good name of a member of hip family. The jury found him guilty of an aggravated assault, which was a surprise to the dtuene. In a few minutes the people raised nearly enough money to pay bitfinta. If there is a cause for whkh a man should kill, it^ it for traducing a female. Messrs. Fly and McNealdefended him. The speech of Mr. Fly is said to be .one of the best ever delivered in Gonsales. Mr. Franks highly appreciates the acts of the good people who came to his ^assistance.
