Man charged with two counts of murderA Sarasota man is being held in a St. Lucie County jail on two counts of murder after he admitted he stabbed to death two Sarasotaresidents Monday.Robert Teal, 40, contacted Officer Tyrone Campbell of the Port Pierce Police Department from a Greyhound bus station and told C ampbell he had killed two people at 569 Poincianna Drive in Sarasota Monday between 1 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to Sarasota County sheriff’s spokesman Chuck Lesaltato.Michael B. Mason, 47, wasidentified as one of the victims. The name of the female has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.Teal told police that he had goneto the house to do crack cocaine when an argument broke out and a yphysical fight ensued, Lesaltato said. Mason had come home at this time and tried to stop the fight. Teal iobtained a knife and stabbed sMason to death and then turned the Iblade on the female. IAfter stabbing both victims. Teal removed money from Mason's Ibcxly and drove to Fort Pierce. lt;Teal is being held on two counts !of first-degree murder and should be returned to Sarasota later this Iweek, Lesaltato said.Teal has a criminal history that includes a 1984 charge of traffick- iing cocaine in Martin County and two 1999 charges of burglary of an occupied structure in Sarasota County. Details were not available about a 1982 out-of-state larceny charge.
