Saturday morning, your editor was invited down to Kinsmen Lake, Stonewall, to take a look at damage done by some hoodlum or hoodlums.Upon approaching the booth, we found just about every window smashed, door locks broken, and as witnessed in the picture, urinals in the toilets broken to pieces. It is believed most o£ the damage was done prior to Christmas. A spruce t.i'ee, on the north side of the booth has had its top removed as well as many branches broken off. The chlorinator, housed in a building on the north east corner of the lake property, has had many parts removed,Last Friday evening, fresh snow fell and a small drift formed -around the fro-nt of the booth. Saturday morning, upon approaching the booth to view the damage,, a fresh snowmobile track was noticed near the booth. Upon clo-ser investigation,some person’s fresh footprints, from the snowmobile to the booth were noticed, Windows in -the south east earner had been broken, presumably by a hand, for in the snow some blood was noticed.Kinsmen Lake has become a favourite grounds for snowmobiles -and an ideal spot. But,, if the privilege is going to be abused, then the Kinsmen should perhaps consider closing the grounds for all winter activity. It has to be very disheartening for Kinsmen members, who work hard to keep this property open for public use. Hundreds of volunteer hours are .spent every year by these men for our benefit, and then some person or persons with no brains has to create damage like this.(Continued on Page Two)
