TRIED TO FIND PETE VENABLE€Johnson Hunted Fugitive with Warrant but Was Unable to Find Him.From Friday’s Daily—Sheriff' Johnson and Walter Casey returned from Little Rock today, where they went to take “Red” Orr and Luther Wise, bridge burners, for a term at the penitentiary. Altho they took the men down the MissouriPacific on which line the unions control, 110 effort was made to interfere with them in performing their duty.Although notorious Pete Venable was reported to he a guest at the Marion Hotel, Sheriff Johnson made an all day search for Venable but could not locate him. It is thought Venable is with the union crowd and they sec that he is kept out of the (dutches of the law.Johnson says he would have arrested him, or tried hard if he could have caught the gentleman. It was as expected, Venable will not he caught napping and located in one place for any length of time for a while at least. The charges* against him are reported to be enough to warrant a trial in the courts.
