The police were ^ j tipped off and on looking over the car p J they found It was filled with candy,| over 3,000 cigarettes a quantity of to- ] j bacco, about $100 w orth of gum and , i a quantity of tools and electric fix I tures The officers soon located the boys and took them to jail. After sweating them awhile they “caved' and confessed all.They gave their names as Walter j 1 Ott. age 15: Raymond Mahady, ag^ seventeen and Malican Rissman, age 15, all of Minneapolis.“We stole the car from Frank Seke. a truck gardner of Minneapolis,'’ con , fessed Raymond. “After wre got it , w'e robbed an electric shop in Min neapolis then drove over to St. Paul and robbed a tobacco store and a gro eery store the same night and beat it south on the Jefferson Highway. That’s how we are in Albert Lea. At Clerks Grove we stripped a car of tools and lights and stole 5 gallons of gasoline. We haven't got all the j stuff wre stole in the car. Some of it we have disposed of.”Officer Lifeson stated to the Tribune Monday that the boys had about seventy-five different kinds of keys including several Ford keys. Besides this they had a complete kit of drilling tools. If they had not been apprehended Saturday night by the local officers undoubtedly they would have operated somewhere about the city.Chief Carey wired to the Police de partment of Minneapolis and Sunday afternoon three detectives arrived by auto and took the boys back to the cities Monday morning.The detectives say that the boys have been working in the cities for some time and that they have been using every effort to catch them.
