Murder-suicide ruled in couple's shootingThe Maryland State Police investigation into the murder-suicide of a Mount Pleasant couple on Sunday night reveal* ed that Barry Kevin Rippeon, 29, shot his wife, Deborah K. Rippeon, 25, and then shot himself.According to Cpl. James Updegraff, the investigating officer, Mrs. Rippeon was shot in the head by her husband from a distance of three feet. Updegraff said Rippeon then shot himself in the chest.The couple were found shot to death ina bedroom of their single-story home Sunday night at 8513 Chestnut Grove Road.Police said a .357 magnum pistol was found on the bed.State police said Rippeon’s brother had been trying to call the couple since midmorning and, becoming concerned, broke into the house and found the bodies in the bedroom about 6:30 p.m.The couple were pronounced dead at the scene by Frederick County’s medical examiner.—Darlene Wiles Burall
