Court Opens With James Roberts on Trial for MurderThomas Superior Court was opened at ten o’clock for- the trial * * of criminal business and after the f Jury was empanelled Solicitor ^General Edwards called for trial ^ and case against James Roberts 2 charged with murder.The solicitor was assisted by At-*«'■ tomey Marcus Calhoun and the Sheriff who was listed as prosecutor. Titus, Altman and Johnson appeared for the defendantRoberts.The first witness was Ferlie May -Reed, who was present on the fifteenth of December on Stevens Street in the early evening when Bonnie May Flowers was shot. She Stated that Roberts shot her, the Wound causing death.
