Police investigate shooting deathsA Mount Pleasant couple were found shot to death in a bedroom of their single-story home Sunday night in an apparent murder-suicide, state police investigators said.A powerful handgun was near the bodies of Barry Kevin Rippeon, 29. and his 25-year-old wife, Deborah K. Rip* peon, but police could not confirm if thegun was used in the bloody shooting.State police said Rippeon’s brotherhad been trying to call the couple since midmorning and, becoming concerned, broke into the house at 8513 Chestnut Grove Road, finding the bodies in a bedroom about 6:30 p m“A .375 magnum pistol was found laying on the bed,” according to the report of Cpl. James A. Updegraff. a state police detective who is investigating“We’re going to have to do some more interviews.” Updegraff said. Autopsies are scheduled this morning at the state medical examiner’s office in Baltimore.The single-story house at Md. 26 andChestnut Grove Road was locked when police and Frederick County Sheriffs deputies arrived.Rescue units dispatched were told to wait on Md. 26 until officers could search the home.Neighbors waited m a light mist, watching police detectives scurry about. One man said; “I just don’t believe this.”Updegraff said more details will beavailable after autopsies are conducted. The husband and wife were pronounced dead by Frederick County’s medical examiner. Neighbors said Rippeon's brother identified the bodies.A state police mobile crime lab from the Westminster barracks was summonsed to help officers collect evidence. Updegraff is assisted by Tfc.
