To the Parents of Gun-Owning Children:It is with disgust that I must relate the following tale of bestiality by some of Granville's young “sportsmen”.Sometime last week, perhaps over the weekend of January 13-14th they trespassed on Denison University property at the old dump to shoot-up bottles and cans. Not only is this a wildlife sanctuary, but it is within the Village, hence in violation of village law.After firing 200-300 rounds they saw a box nailed to a tree. In this they found mice were nesting, as they were in nearly 20 other such boxes. They blocked the entrance holes so ti e mice could not escape they blasted the boxes with 22 caliber long rifle slugs.They even took the lids off and shot directly into the boxes. They did not shoot boxes without nests so they were deliberately trying to shoot animals they had trapped in the boxes. It didn’t matter if they hit them, since, with the exit blocked, theywere left to starve.The tragedy is worse yet for
