Judge Adams delivered his charge to the jury at fouro’clock, and at five o’clock they retired to%the jury room.The jury had been out thirty-six hours when the ringing of the Court House bell early Wednesday morning announced that n verdict had-been agreed upon. A few minutes past seven o’clock the verdict was read, which found the prisoner guilty■9of manslaughter and sentenced him to hardlabor in the States’ Prison for nineteen years. Scott received his sentence without any outwar,d sign of emotion, other than shading his eyes with his hand for a moment. Afier receiving the thanks of the court for the attention and consideration given the case throughout the trial, the jury was dismissed.The cases of Huddleston and Gregorywere called up yesterday and a plea of guilty to assault and battery was enteredin each case.
