Aged victim dies afterassaultAn elderly Josephine man who was assaulted by three white males Jan. 14 during a robbery at his home died Friday evening at Indiana Hospital. An autopsy'will be held Sunday at the Indiana Hospital morgue in an attempt to determine the cause of death.This was one of nine criminal incidents reported today by area police. The summary:An autopsy will be held Sunday at the Indiana Hospital morgue to try and determine the cause of death of 90-year-old Foster James Mardis of Josephine. Mardis died at Indiana Hospital Friday evening. He was admitted there after he was assaulted by three white males Jan. 14 between 8:30 and 9 p.m.' in his Josephine home during a robbery.An undetermined amount of money was taken by the robbers, two of whom were wearing ski masks while the third suspect was described as 5r4‘ tall and of medium build with long blond hair and wire rimmed glasses.Anyone having any information concerning the robbery and assault is asked to contact state police in Indiana immediately.
