From the evidence of a number of winesses and Easley, himself. Johnson had threatened to take his life, and hud stmt him word that he (Johnson) was looking for him. and when Johnson entered the garage, where Easley was employed as a mechanic the trouble started. Johnson, seeing Easley under a ear, doing some repair work, approached him with a wrench, stating that he had come there to whip the young man. As Johnson came up to the car Easley whipped out a 32-calibre pistol ami began shooting at Johnson’s head. Four bullets took effect, and Johnson fell dead, ill feelings between the two men bad existed for some time, stated the witnesses. Easley was arrested following the shooting and brought to the Decatur jail, but was soon liberated on bond, with some of the most substantial and well-to-do citizens of the Chico country as surities.SCOUTS’MEET FT.
