Town of Eldorado Farmer Who Signed Something that Now Appears to be a Note.Fond du Lac, Wis., Jan. 19.—[Special.]—Theodore Ott, a farmer from thetown of Eldorado, came to the city this morning, attracted by news of the arrest of A. J. Wilson, who is in custody 011 a charge of raising notes. Mr. Ott took the agency for a patent food evaporator some time ago and signed some papers, one of which he is chagrined to find is a note to pay $105.The local authorities have received a letter from J. \V. Sutton of the Indiana Foundry company, Indiana, Pa., which formerly manufactured steamers and food evaporators such at Ott took a contract to act as agent for, in which it Lstated that this by 110 means is the first complaint the company has had. The company, he says, was “stuck’* on some contracts made by some agents in the East a long time ago. The men went West and since then complaints came in by the score from Michigan and Wisconsin. The company disavows any responsibility for the operations of these men, says it lias 110 doubt from information at hand that the Fond du Lae authorities have the right man in custody and promises to aid in the prosecution by any means within its power.
