GIVES HIMSELF UP TO OFFICERMissing FromProsecutorAfter Talking OverTelephoneRETURNED HERE TOJAIL TO FACE CHARGESWillFromWasA federal marshal arrived this afternoon andtook Llovd Nelson to Indianapolis where he is wanted on a federal warrant forembezzlement of bankfrom the Milroy bank ofwhich he was cashier.Lloyd Nelson, missing cashierfromMilroy and under grand jury indictment and federal courtcharge of embezzlement, voluntarily gave himself up to Russell Titsworth, prosecuting attorney, Sunday morning afteran absence of nearlv two weeksduring which time wide searchhad been made for him.Nelson telephoned TitsworthSaturday night and stated thathe was speaking from Dayton,Ohio, and that he would like totalk with the prosecutor if theycould arrange to meet Sundaymorning at Dunrieth. Themeeting was effected about 10:30o’clock and Nelson accompaniedthe prosecutor back to this citywhere he was turned over toSheriff L. M. Coons.iNelson had been missing since Monday afternoon of January 7. Bank examiners had uncovereda shortage in the cashier’s booksthat wasmore. A federal warrant was issued for his arrest and subsequently the Rush county grahdjury met and after an investigation returned two grand juryindictments charging Nelsoffwith embezzlement and larcenyand placing his bond at $5,000in one count and $2500 in theother.Nelsonto enter a plea of guiltyssand it was, thought for a time that he would be arranged before Judge Will M. Sparks inthe Rush circuit court thisIIsImorning. However, ProsecutingAttorney Titsworth got in touch with the District Attorney, Ai-Ward, and the district at-1Ictorney stated that the federal jT warrant would have preference. 3 It was his desire that Nelson beturned over to the federal authorities.It was intimated that if thelocal court took action, stepsbe taken toheld for the Federal grand jurywhich meets February 11.
