GHILO FINOS HAPPY HOMEMOTHER DESERTED WHEN BABE WAS STILL UNBORN.Left Alone to Make Shift for Herself Kind Hearted Couple Adopt theLittle Girl.Baseness of man and sufferings of woman were exemplified in tlie Elkhart circuit court this morning when Henry and Clara McKinnis adopted Mary EL Webster. The child was born September 25, 1906, but itsfather Perry Webster deserted the mother, Carrie Webster, before the child was born. The parties resided in Nappanee and the mother was left in poor health with a small .child and an infant in her arms.Mr. and Mrs. McKinnis, who reside at 433 North Ninth street, in Goshen, took the child and cared for it. the mother retaining the older child. Webster was last heard from inShirley, Ind., and is believed to now be in Michigan. McKinnis conducts a second hand store in Goshen. They have raised two children.
