REDSKIN DECLARED SANE BY DOCTORSFi,Charley White Eagle is not insane He is subject to epileptic fits brought on by tnc over indulgence of tire water, usually after his annuity is paid. This is the cause of the red-^1 skin running amuck in West Salem land threatening the life of everyone | who crossed his path.| White Eagle was examined yester-)f day afternoon by Drs. Powell and iv Morrison. They found that the In-t- dian was sane, but Vubject to fits. 11 is last one occurred a few days ago and the previous one was two years before. The report of the doctors given to Judge Brindley is unusually funny. In one of the blank spaces to be filled out, there is the question: jyQ.—“Occupation of the patient?” j\y3 A.—“Usual occupation of an In- jdian.” 1White Eagle was turned loose this ' morning and made his way home to his tribesmen who are camping at Waterloo, near West Salem. It is not expected that he will have another fit until the payment of his annuity next fall. The poor physical condition of the Indian after a prolonged spree results in the mental defect.m
