Met nis just hewahd.—A fellow ty the name of Ayer, who has been palming off a fraud upon the people, in the north, in the way of ahin-plajters, purporting to have a Bank at Fort Leavenworth, has at last met with his just dues, and is now in jail for another and different offence. No such Bank has ever been here, and it is a swindling operation. The Boston Chronicle, says:“Wc learn from the Manchester Mirrorthat a New Hampshire man by the namfe. of Lucien Ayer, of Plaistow, in that State, and more recently President of “a wild-cat” bank in Kansas, whose bills he had been getting rid of at a rapid rate- in New York and Boston, to persons about starting forKansas, was recently arrested at Plaistow, to which place he had lately returned with his wife, on an old charge of arson, for which he had been tried three years ago in Rockingham county. Ayer is in Exeter jail.”
